You should not have to Google your way through postpartum...
Introducing the
"Postpartum Blueprint"
You’ve thoughtfully prepared for birth.
But who is preparing you for postpartum?
The first weeks and months after having a baby can bring some of the biggest physical, emotional, hormonal, and logistical changes of your life — yet most of us enter postpartum with surprisingly little guidance for how to actually navigate them.
You shouldn’t have to Google your way through postpartum.
Introducing the Postpartum Blueprint — a comprehensive, evidence-informed guide to help you prepare for postpartum, support your recovery, nourish your body, and navigate the physical and emotional changes of the first year with more confidence and less overwhelm.
Created by Lucy Chapin, CNM — Yale-trained, hospital-based midwife, holistic health coach, and mother of two.
Why I created the Postpartum Blueprint
After years of caring for families, I noticed something again and again: my patients were deeply invested in preparing for birth, but very few were preparing for postpartum — even those who had already had a baby.
The families I saw thriving weren't necessarily the ones who had an easier postpartum experience. They were the ones who had prepared for it.
I created the Postpartum Blueprint to give you the information I wish every family had before bringing their baby home — practical guidance, trusted resources, and the “pro tips” I've gathered through 18 years of caring for postpartum families.
What my clients are saying
Kind words from mothers
Brie - Denver, CO
“Before working with Lucy, I was filled with fear—terrified of giving birth and unsure of how I’d make it through the unknowns of postpartum. But our session completely shifted everything for me. Lucy created such a calm, grounded space where I could be honest about my anxiety, and then lovingly guided me through tools and practices that helped me reconnect with my strength and intuition."
Hopie - Los Angeles
"I wish I could give the life-changing gift of Lucy to all of my pregnant friends. Lucy was an invaluable guide during my pregnancy and in postpartum. I love my OBGYN, but having a second expert - an experienced midwife I could reach out to with all manner of detailed questions - provided me with incredible practical & emotional support. She sent me the most encouraging, loving, practical advice in those magical but overwhelming first few weeks as a new mom.
Jenna - Austin, TX
"Lucy has been and continues to be an absolute gift, resource and ally throughout my journey towards and into motherhood. I love how she leverages and balances a range of western and eastern wisdom. She is deeply empathetic, patient, encouraging, thoughtful and committed to the wellness of her clients….she truly tends to the WHOLE mother….physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually. Working with her is nothing short of pure medicine, magic and nourishment. Every mama that gets to work with Lucy is a lucky one!"
Kye - Hanover, NH
"Working with Lucy feels like having an incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate friend help guide you through an experience that can otherwise be difficult to navigate. The care she offered us felt like a unique blend of midwifery, mental health services, and birth coaching that was tailored specifically to us. It reduced anxiety and increased confidence, which was worth every penny to us."
Gaby - Milan, Italy
"My virtual care session with Lucy was so nourishing, supportive and affirming! Lucy is so real, and as a mama herself has been through it all. You truly feel that she gets it. Lucy is a tremendous listener, which I feel is the most important quality we need in our healers and birth/medical practitioners - sadly a rare commodity today! I could not recommend working with Lucy more highly on your journey to, or through, motherhood. You won’t regret it!"
Livia - New York, NY
"My OBGYN ranks among the best in New York, yet my personal experience has been defined by working with Lucy to provide essential, incremental knowledge, support, care, and presence throughout my birth preparation and process, for me and for my partner. Lucy’s advice, comfort and insight have been critical, soothing and confidence building. She is a true baby, mother and parent whisperer, who I recommend all humans contact as they go through this exciting, challenging, and beautiful time."
Melanie - Burlington, VT
"Lucy has a way of looking at the whole picture yet able to go deep into what I was looking to further explore with me. My favorite thing about working with Lucy was she helped me find my confidence in the birthing process. She has a way of helping you see it in yourself.
The most important thing about working with Lucy is she is truly there to help YOU. No bias, no pushing one birth plan or outcome. She truly wants to help you live out your hopes and dreams for your pregnancy and birth."
Heather - Stowe, VT
"Working with Lucy during my pregnancy was such a gift. I was seeking a knowledgeable guide to help me filter through the noise of social media and others opinions, and Lucy became my go to wing-woman. Having just one point of contact for all the questions that came up was such a relief!
As a first time mother on a new and mysterious journey I felt so supported and held during my pregnancy, and empowered for the birth ahead. Each session felt like a warm cup of tea with a good friend, infused with the wisdom of a woman with so much experience -- thank you Lucy!!"
